Welcome to christopherblackmon.com.  I am a music educator in an inner-city, high-risk school. Having served as a children’s pastor for about ten years, I see myself not only as a music educator, but also as a character educator. What I’ve learned is that DESIRES and BELIEFS drive all choices. My greatest desire is to see young people develop a deep sense of purpose and destiny. My heart-held belief is that music is a powerful tool toward that end.

This site contains the music and musical resources I have been creating over the past decade or more. These resources are designed to plant positive virtues in urban kids — the DESIRE to dream, to achieve, to give the best of themselves for the good of others — the BELIEF that they were born for greatness, that they can learn, that they can make a difference.

Many of these songs are already very popular with the kids that hear them. My background is jazz, but several styles of music are represented here. Each song has its own page with descriptive elements, target ages, available products (ex. karaoke track, performance track, sheet music, etc.) You will find songs you like and that you’ll want to use with your students or with your own kids. When you do, please click on the “purchase” link next to the product you want – you will be redirected to the christopherblackmon.com store.
